[Due to Maine's nature, a lot of the time he and Hide existed together in their appartment without actually conversing. And a lot of that was Hide chattering at him. He didn't mind, he'd make sure Hide knew if he did mind.

It's in the midst of this chatter (he doesn't know what about, he wasn't really listening because he'd recently rediscovered television and was understandably distracted) that he remembers something he needed to look into. He growls at Hide as a cue that he needs to say something, so shut up for a second]

But seriously, this guy, he was like 'I didn't have anything to do with it', and yet there he was; with spray paint on his hands, the same colour as--

[It was just another one of those days, it really was. It isn't often that Maine tells him to shut up, it's pretty nice to have someone that'll actually listen to all of your stupid work stories.

But the minute Maine growls at him, it's pretty immediate that he cuts his story off, a blink and a look of surprise on his face.]

--Eh? Something up, buddy?

[Usually listens. Sometimes Maine tunes you out a bit. You don't expect him to respond anyway. Maine frowns a moment, before airing his thought:]

Looking for someone. Teenage. Dark skin, blue hair. Bad attitude. Know him?

[I need to beat some manners into him]

[....Bad attitude? Blue hair, kid? Yeah, he could actually bring up an image in his head pretty recent. He'd wrecked the teen's sand castle at the beach by accident, and well...]

Sounds like Glitch, the kid I met who claimed to be from an apocalyptic future.

[Wow good work even Maine didn't wreck his castle. All he does is crack his knuckles in reply. I GOTTA PUNCH SOME SENSE INTO HIM, BRUH.]

DON'T BEAT UP KIDS. Hide immediately squares his shoulders and shakes his head.]

No. No way. You're not punching anyone, let alone some bratty kid. I know you might wanna knock some sense into his head for that attitude he has, but come on.

[Maine makes such a sour face in reply, growling in an annoyed fashion. You can't tell me what to do Hide, HE DISRESPECTED ME, DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND???]

I get it, he probably said something real rude to you but come on. You're like. A bear. A really big bear. And he's like a chipmunk.

If you punch him, you'd literally destroy him.

[Maine looks at Hide for a second but then just

[Wow you suspect me of bad behavior, your favorite roommate. He looks not unlike a scolded child.]

[Every person who's been in this house you've attacked, you're a really cool roomate but mAN you have an 'act first talk later' attitude that is gonna get you in trouble.]

[He shakes his head. That bugget didn't get scared he got angry.]

[Maine folds his arms, looking sullen.]

[And then he's just going to SULK because you're supposed to be on MY SIDE you jerk.]

Come on, don't even start to look sour. I'm on your side, buddy, but only when you don't do things that make you look like the bad guy.

How about this. We'll talk to Glitch together and see if we can't figure this thing out. A mutual agreement that you both did something unsavory to one another.

[Maine rolls his shoulders, he sill looks a bit sullen but growls out a response that, with the look on his face, seems like some sort of reluctant agreement.

AS LONG AS WE AGREE THAT GLITCH ALSO WAS RUDE.]

[lbr Glitch was a rude ass bitch too. Electrocuting someone on a beach is dangerous there is so much water.]

Good. Glad t'see we're in agreement.

So there'll be no more water-chucking and no more electrocuting.

[He was being a prejudiced-ass bitch before too. You don't know about that part though.

Maine grumbles again in a non-committal fashion. What if someone really deserves it. He's not restricting himself in such absolute terms.]

I'll give him a ring and we'll talk about it later.

[And that will happen after I disappear off the face of the planet.]

[Maine nods, he falls quiet for a minute longer as he sinks back into his thoughts.

A few minutes later he growls at Hide again to get his attention.]

[He's probably face and eyes into some TV show when the other falls silent, having forgotten the story he was telling Maine before the whole conversation started. He looks up when the other growls, his shoulders perking up.]

Yeah? What's up, buddy?
