voicemail;
Anyway, Annie made me promise to call you if I wanted cupcakes and I was like, starving in prison and stuff so I really needed them. But she said to go running with you. You're a speedster or something? Fresh out the Port or whatever? Anyway, ring me back if you want.
I'm Wally.
voicemail > voicecall
A guy who knew he was a 'speedster', and someone to 'go running with'--was it his birthday? Nah, too early; too early. He'll call back as soon as he notes the voice message--and hopes the guy picks up. When he inevitably does; be prepared to be met with one hell of a cheery voice; Wally.]
Hey--returnin' your call here! 's Nagachika, Nagachika Hideyoshi. Don't think somethin' like this weird; man, this is by far the least weirdest thing I can think of.
Ya really mind takin' me runnin'? I ain't no-where as experienced as a guy like you, but you can bet your two legs I'll do my damnedest to keep up.

She is "Rabbit".
[ Hide knows who this is and whom Kaneki is talking about. There is only one person from their world who arrived recently.
Touka will kill Kaneki, but Kaneki thinks Hide should know for a whole bunch of reasons, but mostly so things make sense. He did tell his friend he'd tell him things as they go. ]
[ Text ]
'She'? You mean Touka-chan?
[His lips thin a little. She's the Rabbit. She's the one who killed a number of CCG Members. He knew she was a ghoul, but...]
Guess I should ask. 'Should I be worried'?

Voicemail
There's no point in hesitating now, though. This wasn't going to get any easier, no matter what she did.]
How long?
[That's all Touka says, but she doesn't think she needs to elaborate. 'How long have you known about me'?]
voicemail --> voicecall
He could feel his heart skip an uncomfortable beat as he grips his communicator a little tighter--attempting to catch his breath before he pushes a callback on his phone. Waiting for her to, hopefully pick up. Much like when Kaneki answers the phone--he'll begin speaking without giving Touka as much as a chance to say 'hello'.]
I guess my first words should be something along the lines of 'I'm sorry', or 'I should have said something earlier'. but.
It honestly doesn't make me see you any different, Touka-chan. Despite how long I've known.

Hide probably knows Kaneki wasn't himself at the time, but... ]
I hope you won't be making fun of me for all eternity, after what happened. [ sure. this is a way to address it ]
[text]
It was almost unsurprising that Kaneki had disappeared at some point during the night. The text he'd received following was a comforting one; at least. He hadn't been wrong that his friend wasn't right.]
Why would I make fun of you? I mean, sure, it was a bit weird to have you clinging to me for that long, but.
...Were you upset or somethin'?

Actually in person bc I do what I want
It's in the midst of this chatter (he doesn't know what about, he wasn't really listening because he'd recently rediscovered television and was understandably distracted) that he remembers something he needed to look into. He growls at Hide as a cue that he needs to say something, so shut up for a second]

[It was just another one of those days, it really was. It isn't often that Maine tells him to shut up, it's pretty nice to have someone that'll actually listen to all of your stupid work stories.
But the minute Maine growls at him, it's pretty immediate that he cuts his story off, a blink and a look of surprise on his face.]

"Kind'a convenient how that works, huh?" He crosses his arms behind his arms as they walk, his head tipping a bit towards her. Yes, she's being observed--but not in the way that she thinks.
If this WAS an information session, it was remarkably pathetic. For someone who worked for the police, Hideyoshi probably came off as pretty bad at any sort of info-digging--but alas, they're on two separate pages here.
"I don't! I completely cleared my schedule today, for this." Dates were important to finish properly, you couldn't just run off at the end of it because you were late for something!! "Besides, it's a pretty nice afternoon, right? It'd almost be a waste to ride a stuffy train home." not that he ever took the train since he gained the ability to run like he did.

[ Voicemail ]
How is he supposed to act with Hide now? Kaneki has no idea, everything is awkward and terribly embarrassing to him. How do normal people do this? But Ken does want to hang out with him, and that's only natural, right? His head is filled with Hide right now and despise being so embarrassing, he wants to hang out with him. Be with him.
So he will leave a voicemail. Not text. Voice. ]
Hey- [ what does he say next? ] It's Ken. [ besides that, he knows who this is obviously ]
Er- are you busy? Not now. You are probably working. Later on, I don't know- I thought we could go to the movies. [ that's a thing they haven't done in ages, right. ]
[ Voicemail ] -> [Voice]
So of course, when he gets the voice mail (Voice mail, he actually got a voice mail, this was rare. He's saving it for the future.), he's going to respond to it as soon as he can. He'll take an early break if he has to, kipping in between two buildings so he can talk.]
Hoooh. Strange for you to call me instead of textin' Ken. [You can almost HEAR the grin in his voice.] Work's out in a half hour, so if ya got the patience to wait that long t'see me, I guess I can keep my schedule clear to go see a film with you.
[There's a bubble in his voice, he's clearly happy.]
Dy'a got anything in mind?
